I recently came across this podcast about Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and SIBO. I’ve been diagnosed with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Endometriosis, and SIBO all by different doctors. How do I get my doctors to listen and understand. I had exploratory surgery for Endometriosis because I was having bowel issues and my GI doctor kept scoping me but wouldn’t test for SIBO even though I was pretty sure I had it. They discovered I do have Endo, I also had adhesions on my bowel to my abdominal wall. I had laparoscopic surgery which causes more scar tissue and adhesions. I decided to have a hysterectomy a few months later because of the adhesions, endometriosis bowel issues and my uterus was tilted against my bowel. Which we thought would end my bowel issues. Well, surgery causes more adhesions and scar tissue so maybe that was a mistake. I have been to doctor after doctor to try to figure out my bowel issues since my surgery. My PCP kept telling me to just take laxatives and gave me anxiety medication instead of sending me to a GI. I got to a GI and she tested me for SIBO I got a false negative and she refused more testing for SIBO. I went to another doctor and got diagnosed with SIBO but she wants to treat me with herbs and I have tried them some of them make my bowel symptoms worse. I was in Pelvic Floor Therapy which didn’t really help and maybe made things worse because it made my muscles that I was told were tight and week even more tight. When I listened to this podcast it seems like everything makes so much more sense about my condition but I can’t get a doctor to listen to me about any of it and I’ve been dealing with this for 16 years now.

I really appreciate any help I can get on this. I finally got a care advocate through my insurance and I’m able to go out of state for care but I really don’t know where to turn at this point because I’ve had over 50 doctor appointments about this in the past 7 years.
