Recovery can take a while and looks different for everyone. For most people with endometriosis, they have suffered with symptoms for many years. Those years take a toll on your health, and healing doesn’t happen overnight. Excision surgery is the first step, but further care may be needed to help address the effects on your body and mind. This might include pelvic physical therapy, addressing other pain/symptom generators, and caring for the effects on your mental health. Recovery is not usually a linear process- there may be many ups and downs. Everyone does not heal at the same speed. While you may have small incisions on the outside, there may have been extensive work done on the inside that requires healing. It can take time to get your energy back.
