Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience — I’m really sorry to hear that you’re going through such intense pain.
From what you described, it seems that you underwent surgery for an ovarian cyst and later developed a post-operative infection, which was treated with antibiotics. You also mentioned being on three cycles of Depo-Provera, yet the pain during your last two menstrual cycles was excruciating.
When pain persists or worsens after surgery and hormonal treatment, it’s important to consider a few possibilities:
In addition, although Depo-Provera can help some patients, others may experience worsening symptoms or insufficient relief, depending on the type and extent of the disease.
Given your profession as a flight attendant, I understand how debilitating this must be. A thorough re-evaluation — ideally with a specialist in endometriosis — including advanced imaging (like a transvaginal ultrasound with bowel prep or pelvic MRI), review of surgical records, and a multidisciplinary approach may help identify the exact cause of your pain and guide more effective treatment.
You are not alone in this — and there is a path to better control of your symptoms. If you’d like, I can help guide next steps or refer you to trusted specialists.
Warm regards,
Dr. Patrick Bellelis
