What you should know about me: April began practicing in 2006. After many years as a physical therapist practicing in various settings, becoming specialized in pregnancy and postpartum was a natural evolution in her career, blending her physical therapy training to help in the birthing world. April has received her Certification of Achievement in Pregnancy and Postpartum (CAPP-OB) from the American Physical Therapy Association. She has also trained as a doula and enjoys teaching childbirth classes. Serving as a labor support professional has created a special blending of her physical therapy expertise with her training in the birth process.
Her clinical experience in orthopedic and pediatric physical therapy has helped her treat patients with often overlooked or missed pelvic floor dysfunction. She enjoys treating runners and assessing the biomechanics of movement and tailoring exercises unique to that individual. She has a passion for helping women return to running safely in postpartum. She enjoys learning and is always looking for the next course that will help her assist patients in meeting their goals.
